THE RICHARD & ETHEL HERZFELD FOUNDATION GRANT

TO MILWAUKEE CHILDREN’S LEARNING CENTER

Milwaukee, WI – June 2010 – THE RICHARD & ETHEL HERSFELD FOUNDATION approved a grant of $7,500 this month to the MILWAUKEE CHILDREN’S LEARNING CENTER for One-on-One Tutoring of Children with Dyslexia

“With the help of your generous donation,” Sara Ketterer, Center Director said,” the Milwaukee Learning Center meets a substantial and growing local need, providing an educational service for the learning disabled and bringing improved quality of life to numerous children and their families in the Milwaukee community.”

The Milwaukee Children’s Learning Center was begun by the Scottish Rite Masons in 1998 and offers free remedial tutoring to children ages 6-18 who suffer from dyslexia. After-school tutoring is offered on a first-come, first-serve basis to all children regardless of economic, ethnic and religious background or Masonic affiliation. Since its start, the Milwaukee Children’s Learning Center has given close to 150 children with dyslexia the chance to learn and reach their full potential.

The Richard & Ethel Herzfeld Foundation has been a great supportive neighbor to the Milwaukee Children’s Learning Center for many years. They are very much appreciated for all that they do in the Milwaukee community.

For more information on the Milwaukee Children’s Learning Center, please contact Sara Ketterer, Center Director at 414-765-9189.
