Upcoming Lecture at Concordia Focuses on Renewed Creation
The upcoming Bartling Lecture at Concordia University Wisconsin will feature Dr. James Ware. Dr. Ware earned a Ph.D. in New Testament and Ancient Christianity from Yale University and teaches at the University of Evansville in Evansville, Indiana.
This year’s lecture entitled, “Paul’s Gospel of the Renewed Creation” takes place on Tuesday, March 9 at 7:00 p.m., with an encore on Wednesday, March 10 at 12:00 p.m. in the Lake Shore Room on CUW’s main campus in Mequon. The lecture is free and open to the public.
“Dr. Ware will explore the biblical foundations of the hope of creation’s renewal, with special focus on Paul’s letters, the tragic loss of this hope within much contemporary Lutheran theology, and the urgent need for the recovery of this hope in our preaching and teaching today,” said Dr. Timothy Maschke, professor of Theology at CUW.
The Bartling Lecture Series was instituted by the University’s Theology Department several years ago. For more information, contact Dr. Maschke at timothy.maschke@cuw.edu or 262-243-4252.
