Milwaukee/NARI Announces “Best Of Show” Award Winner

The Milwaukee/NARI Home Improvement Council, the local chapter of the National Association of the Remodeling Industry (NARI) in its 48th year as the leading resource in the home improvement and remodeling industry in southeastern Wisconsin, announced that B&E General Contractors, Inc. in Glendale was the recipient of the “Best of Show” award that was presented in conjunction with the association’s annual Spring Home Improvement Showcase – A Tour of Remodeled Homes.

A panel of judges visited each of the 18 Spring Showcase project locations looking to identify the entry they believed had the best workmanship, attention to detail, and tour presentation.

B&E’s Colonial Revival home renovation and two-story addition on this Milwaukee home features a historically proper front entry, an exterior Ashlar stone pattern, and new canopy with custom ironwork, and an Ipe hardwood relaxation deck.

The renovated kitchen has cherry cabinets, a gourmet central island with Wild West green granite, and burlwood herringbone backsplash tile with brass art deco accents. With a custom-made, upholstered dining booth, red oak flooring leads into the family room addition that has painted furniture-style bookcases with reed glass inserts, illuminated art niches, and crown molding.

The second level master suite has a spacious master bedroom with a hip vault ceiling. The master bath includes an under-mounted soaking tub, cherry wood double vanity, and Kohler sinks, faucets, and shower sprays. Artistic highlights include the master shower tile application, pebble shower floor and free-form tub path, as well as the rain glass privacy screen. A second level concealed laundry closet has stacking appliances, sliding shelves, and storage bins.

The Milwaukee/NARI Home Improvement Council was chartered in July 1961, as a Chapter of the National Home Improvement Council. In May of 1982, the National Home Improvement Council merged with the National Remodelers Association to form NARI the National Association of the Remodeling Industry. With over 900 members, the Milwaukee Chapter is the largest in the nation.

The Council’s goals of encouraging ethical conduct, sound business practices, and professionalism in the remodeling industry have led to the growth of the remodeling industry nationwide and made NARI a recognized authority in that industry.
