At least 10 incidents of vandalism were reported in the 500 block of East Bay Point Road, the 9200, 9400 and 9500 blocks of North Regent Road, the 9200 block of North Pelham Parkway and the 700 block of West Laramie Lane early morning June 12. In many of the incidents the glass on lampposts was broken. Also vandalized was a mailbox and a bird feeder. The amount of damage in these incidents was not yet listed.
1A 34-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested for drunken driving, with two prior convictions, after being stopped for expired registration because of unpaid parking tickets at Brown Deer Road and Interstate 43 at 2:30 a.m. June 17. The man was uncooperative saying, "I know I'm (expletive) drunk." He was taken for a blood draw.
2A custom made guitar and an iPad valued at $1,500 were taken from an unlocked car in the 3200 block of West Bradley Road on May 28 or 29.
3A 17-year-old Milwaukee girl was arrested for theft from Kohl's, 9060 N. Green Bay Road, at 6:15 p.m. June 3. The girl put items valued at $238 including shirts, shorts and flip flops into a foil lined purse and left the store. She denied the purse was hers.
4A 19-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested for possession of cocaine with intent to deliver, possession of marijuana, with three prior convictions, and driving while suspended after being stopped for driving without taillights in the 4900 block of West Bradley Road at 1:15 a.m. June 4. The man was found with 4.2 grams of cocaine and 1.1 grams of marijuana in his underwear and a marijuana blunt in his pant leg. He also had $850 saying he had just sold his car but later said that would be hard to prove.
5A digital media player, smartphone and a laptop computer valued at $1,500 were taken from an unlocked car in a driveway in the 8500 block of North 63rd Street on June 4 or 5.
6Graffiti was found spray-painted on the west side of Pick 'n Save, 9200 N. Green Bay Road, at 5 p.m. June 6. It read "(Expletive) you." Almost the same words were spray-painted outside TJ Maxx, 9020 N. Green Bay Road, on May 28.
7A 27-year-old man, a citizen of Mexico with a Milwaukee address, was arrested for driving with a suspended license, with four previous arrests, failure to have insurance and speeding 61 mph in a 40 mph zone in the 5500 block of West Brown Deer Road at 7 a.m. June 12. The man did not speak English, never had a Wisconsin driver's license, and when asked, declined to notify the Mexican Consulate.
A 22-year-old Brown Deer man was arrested for disorderly conduct/domestic after he reportedly poked a woman in the eye, refused to let her leave their apartment and wouldn't open the door for police the afternoon of June 12. The man denied the allegations saying he and the woman had a verbal argument only and they didn't open the door because they didn't want police involved. There was an odor of marijuana in the residence and the man admitted smoking the drug earlier in the morning but there was none left in the apartment.
Two domestic incidents were reported this week.
8A 17-year-old Fox Point boy and an 18-year-old Glendale man were arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia and the man also for possession of 2 grams of marijuana after the car the boy was driving was stopped for a burned out taillamp in the 7700 block of North Port Washington Road at 11:59 p.m. June 8. A strong odor of burned marijuana was evident in the car and when asked about it, the boy said that was because they'd been at a party where others were using the drug but not them. He did admit, however, that he smoked but only cigarettes. Pipes with residue and the marijuana were found in the car.
9An obscene word and a sexually explicit drawing were found on a street sign in the 100 block of East Spooner Road at 1:30 p.m. June 11. Damage was $50.
10A 35-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested for drunken driving, with a prior conviction, and driving after revocation in the 7600 block of North Port Washington Road at 2:30 a.m. June 13. The man, who admitted having five drinks, had a preliminary blood alcohol content of 0.176 and was taken for a blood draw.
11A 20-year-old Milwaukee woman was arrested for prostitution after police investigated a website and set up "a date" with her at the Radisson Hotel, 7065 N. Port Washington Road, at 9:30 p.m. June 6. The woman arrived in a red Jaguar and later told police she wasn't going "to do anything for money" and was "confused why she was arrested." The woman, who had condoms issued from a Florida women's shelter, had other prostitution arrests, some in Florida.
12A 23-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested for drunken driving, driving while suspended, with two prior convictions and possession of open intoxicants after driving erratically in the 1300 block of West Silver Spring Drive at 2:20 a.m. June 8. The man had a cup of beer in the center console which he said belonged to a friend. His blood alcohol content was 0.12.
13A 47-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested for drunken driving and driving east in westbound lanes in the 1700 block of West Silver Spring Drive at 1:48 a.m. June 9. He said he was going to the south side and coming from the south side. His preliminary BAC ranged from 0.297 to 0.327.
14A 21-year-old man, residence not listed, was a suspect in the theft of a $700 Apple iPhone from a woman staying at the Baymont Inn, 5485 N. Port Washington Road on June 8 or 9. The woman said the man was her "guest."
15A purse and an Apple smartphone were taken from a locked car on Civic Drive and Glen Park Road the morning of June 9. A window was broken to gain entry.
16A 43-year-old woman, possibly from Texas, was arrested for prostitution, possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia after police investigated a website and set up "a date" at the Baymont Inn, 5485 N. Port Washington Road, at 10:40 p.m. June 10. The woman had 4 grams of marijuana, pipes with residue and $695 cash. The woman said she was in the area working for a traveling sales group and her co-workers left but she stayed and has done "exceptionally well as a prostitute in Glendale with about 15 customers a day."
17A laptop, GPS unit and undisclosed medication were taken from a locked car at Pick 'n Save, 1735 W. Silver Spring Drive on June 10 or 11.
18Catalytic converters were taken from two trucks at Zien, 2303 W. Mill Road, on June 11 or 12. The cost to repair and replace each was $1,000.
19Five males were seen taking liquor valued at $409 from the liquor department at Pick 'n Save, 1735 W. Silver Spring, at 8:45 p.m. June 12. A security guard reportedly saw the men, who were in the store for just over a minute, take the liquor but did not call police until June 13.
20A 24-year-old Glendale man was arrested for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia after a noise complaint in the 6100 block of North Green Bay Avenue at 10:50 p.m. June 13.
A total of seven bikes valued from $60 to $150 were taken from the 2100 block of West Marne Avenue, the 5700 block of North Crestwood Boulevard and the 700 block of West Bender Road between June 10 to June 14.
21A 49-year-old River Hills man was issued a municipal citation for disorderly conduct after a 911 call reporting a couple arguing in the 9000 block of North Lodgewood Road at 5 a.m. June 11. The man, who had been drinking, reportedly retrieved an unloaded gun during the verbal argument causing concern.
22An 18-year-old Shorewood man was the victim of a strong-armed robbery as he rode his bicycle in the 4000 block of North Downer Avenue at 12:30 a.m. June 9. A male got out of a car, punched the man in his face and took his cellphone. The victim was treated at a hospital and released.
23A 49-year-old Milwaukee woman was warned after witnesses reported her using obscene language at Atwater Beach, 4000 N. Lake Drive, at 3 p.m. June 9. She was told to "watch her language" or she would have to leave.
24Two stone elephants were taken from a front patio in the 3500 block of North Summit Avenue during the day June 9. The elephants, about 3-feet long and 2-feet high, and weighing 110 pounds were valued at $700 each.
25Two Whitefish Bay boys, 16 and 17, were arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia along the Milwaukee River in the 4600 block of North Estabrook Parkway at 11:45 a.m. June 10. A DNR warden called police after finding the boys, who smelled of burned marijuana. The boys had glass pipes and a grinder and admitted smoking the drug.
26A bicycle, rented from the UW-Milwaukee U-Bike program, was taken from the 4100 block of North Ardmore Avenue between 1:45 and 3:35 a.m. June 11. The value was not listed.
27A bank bag with about $600 cash was reported taken from an office in the 4400 of North Oakland Avenue at 8:40 a.m. June 13. There was no sign of forced entry.
28Two laptop computers valued at $350 and about $30 were taken from the 5200 block of North Bay Ridge Avenue on Jun 10 or 11. Entry was gained through an unlocked window.
29A radar unit, a wallet and about $135 was taken from an unlocked car in a driveway in the 5400 block of North Lake Drive between noon and 10 p.m. June 11. A pack of cigarettes was left at the scene.
A credit card company called a resident to confirm the purchase of items valued at more than $1,000 from Nordstrom's and Swiecki Enterprises June 11. These were fraudulent charges and were canceled along with the credit card.
30A $150 bicycle was taken from an unlocked garage in the 5500 block of North Berkeley Boulevard during the day June 11.
31A 47-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested for theft of more than $300 of hair care products from CVS Pharmacy, 240 E. Hampton Ave., at 9:45 a.m. June 15. The man left the store with the stolen items but was stopped in the area.
32A 16-year-old Whitefish Bay boy was cited for trespassing on the beach in the 4800 block of North Lake Drive at 8 p.m. June 16. Earlier, the residents reported finding a campsite on the beach including a fire pit and a sleeper sofa.
33A laptop, an electronic reader and some cash valued at about $400 were taken from the 5400 block of North Shoreland Avenue between 11 p.m. June 16 and 1:30 a.m. June 17. Entry was gained through a kitchen window.
34A 50-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested for drunken driving, with five prior convictions, on Marlborough Drive at Lexington Boulevard at 1:30 a.m. June 17. He was taken for a blood draw.
NORTH SHORE FIRE DEPARTMENT
Firefighters responded to 127 calls, 87 emergency medical and 40 fire/rescue, June 11 to June 17.
35A resident put a metal pan into a microwave oven causing a fire in the 4100 block of West Cherrywood Lane, Brown Deer, at 9:30 a.m. June 11. Firefighters helped remove the occupant and a "small dog." The fire, which had spread to cabinets above the oven, was extinguished and no injuries or other damage was reported.
