Bayside road work under way

Bayside - Crews are out pulverizing pavement around Bayside and repaving should follow shortly thereafter.

The pulverizing, weather permitting, should be completed this week. Repaving is expected to begin in the Apple Orchards subdivision late this week or early next week, and should follow the route of the pulverized roads.

A total of 12 streets are being repaved throughout the village, and village officials advise drivers to be cautiouse while around the road work.

Glendale-River Hills lunch program outlined

Glendale - The Glendale-River Hills School District announced its policy for students unable to pay the full price of meals.

Parents or guardians interested in free or reduced meals will need to fill out application forms included in school registration packets, which will be reviewed by district administrative staff.

Concordia targets adult learners

Mequon - Concordia University Wisconsin hosts a Get Started Night from 4 to 7 p.m. Aug. 2 for adults who are thinking of returning to school at its Mequon campus at 12800 North Lake Shore Drive.

"There has never been a better time than right now for adult learners to begin their higher education journey," Executive Director of Center and Accelerated Programs Rochelle Regenauer said in a news release.

Participants should bring a copy of their transcripts for any previous college credits, and applicants will receive a $50 waiver for the online application.
