Eriks Gunars Klavins
Eriks Gunars Klavins of Mequon died Aug. 21, 2009, at age 64.
Through his music, as a Milwaukee Symphony violinist, a teacher and a mentor, Eriks has touched many people's lives.
He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Arlene L. (nee Gratz); mother, Marianna (nee Kuzmans) of Bendigo, Australia; children, Melissa (Justin) Markgraf of Post Lake, Erika Klavins of New York and Roberts (Emily) Klavins of Portland, Ore.; other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Elmars Klavins.
Service was Aug. 26 at Bay Shore Lutheran Church, Whitefish Bay. Private burial was held.
Memorials are suggested to the family to help establish a violin scholarship fund.
The family thanks the kind people who have given their love and support to them and Eriks over the last few months.
