Kathleen F. Mattingly
Kathleen F. "RJ's Mom" Mattingly of Milwaukee, formerly of Shorewood, died June 24, 2009, at age 56.
She was born Dec. 19, 1952, in New York City, N.Y. She attended Marquette University for two years and finished her degree in Spanish at Denver University. She had many jobs over the years and wherever she worked, her competence made her indispensable to her employers, while her effervescent personality created instant and lasting friendships.
Kathleen was passionate about most everything she did, including her volunteer work as an English as a Second Language teacher, which she did for many years. But what she was most passionate about was raising her son, and that she did masterfully. She was first and foremost, "RJ's Mom."
She is survived by her son, Richard James "RJ" Worden (Marilyn Wesniak); mother, Mary Elizabeth (nee Kohlman); siblings, Kevin, Kerry (Pat), Kent (Judy), Keith (Cheryl), Kelly (Terri) and Kris (Karol Knoble) Mattingly; best friend, Debbie Dahl; other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, Richard F. Mattingly; and sisters-in-law, Christine and Rita Mattingly.
Mass of Intention was celebrated July 8 at St. Robert Catholic Church, Shorewood.
Memorials are suggested to the Richard J. Worden Educational Fund, c/o Kerry Mattingly, 11531 Buntrock Ave., Mequon, WI 53092; or the American Cancer Society.
Northshore Funeral Services handled the arrangements.
