Yolanda A. Otis
Yolanda A. Otis, formerly of Shorewood, died June 19, 2009, at age 95, in a hospice in New Jersey.
Yolanda was born on April 3, 1914, in Milwaukee to Mateo and Maria Colavita. She married Vincent Otis in 1938. They moved to Madison in 1947, returning to Milwaukee after Vincent's retirement. Yolanda was an avid reader, a lover of theater, opera and ballet, an impeccable seamstress, cook, baker and gardener. She approached everything she pursued with skill and artistry.
She is survived by her daughters, Mary Jean Mollica (Joseph) of Princeton, N.J., and Patty Otis Abel of New York City; grandchildren, Linda Lippman (Andy) Michael and Christine Mollica, all of Princeton; great-grandchildren, Caroline, Sarah and Joseph Lippman; other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her brothers, Michael and Henry; and husband, Vincent.
Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated June 29 at St. Robert Catholic Church, Shorewood. Interment was at Holy Cross Cemetery.
