Earl Robert Zamzow
Earl Robert "Blacky" Zamzow of Whitefish Bay died May 23, 2009, at age 80.
He was a high school biology teacher, track and football coach, U.S. Army Reserve officer, investments counselor, friend, neighbor and mentor. He married Be on July 5, 1953, in Elburn, Ill., and raised their family in West Allis to 1964 and in Whitefish Bay into retirement years.
He graduated from Ripon College in 1950 and was inducted into the Ripon College Sports Hall of Fame in 1981 for his athletic achievements. He was inducted into the Wisconsin Track and Field Hall of Fame in 1995 for his coaching accomplishments at Whitefish Bay High School.
He always placed others in the forefront of his life.
He is survived by his sons, Mark (Fran) and Scott (Meg); grandchildren, Kyle, Dean and Chad; other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Be Zamzow.
Service was May 30. Private internment was held.
