John J. Rice
John J. "Jack" Rice of Jackson, a former longtime resident of Glendale, died May 14, 2009, at age 85.
He retired as a motor pump operator with the Shorewood Fire Department after more than 32 years of service. He was a member of North Shore Congregational Church, Peter Wollner Post 288, the American Legion, McKinley Lodge 307, F & AM, Scottish Rite Bodies and Tripoli Shrine. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
He is survived by his wife of more than 50 years, Sharon (nee Buehler); children, Sherry (Randy) Banduch of Austin, Texas, and Jeri (Steve) Stefaniak of West Bend; siblings-in-law of Marlin (the late Joan) Buehler, Rahlo (Erna) Buehler, Lorna (the late Don) Arndt, Darlene (Ted) Adler and Terry (Peggy) Buehler; five grandpuppies, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
A memorial service was held May 19.
Memorials to Shriners Hospitals for Children, the Washington County Humane Society or North Shore Congregational Church are suggested.
Schmidt & Bartelt Funeral and Cremation Service handled the arrangements.
