John H. Schneider

John H. Schneider of Mequon died May 6, 2009, at age 90.

He was an aeronautical engineer and a graduate of the University of Minnesota. He was the founder of John Schneider and Associates Corp. and Metalline Corp. in Milwaukee.

He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army Air Corp. in England during World War II and achieved the rank of major. He was a private pilot and active in radio-controlled flying clubs.

He was a devout Catholic and a member of the Holy Name Society. He was a longtime member of the YMCA, rarely missing a good workout. He was always up for a good time, a good joke, working the keys on the piano, and spending time with family and friends. He was an avid hunter and outdoorsman.

He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Kathleen (nee Krebsbach) Schneider; children, Janeen (Steve) Doleschal of Madison, Steve (Kathy) Schneider of Mequon, Mary Jo (Terry) McCormick of Elm Grove and Julie (John) Schlabach of Cedarburg; 15 grandchildren, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Mary Schneider; and brother, Henry.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated May 12 at Lumen Christi Catholic Church, Mequon. Private interment was at Resurrection Cemetery.

Memorials are suggested to the Milwaukee Rescue Mission, 830 N. 19th St., Milwaukee, WI 53223.

Feerick Funeral Home handled the arrangements.
