It was only a couple of short weeks ago in which the people of America were asking, "where are the jobs that the stimulus package was supposed to create? Where is the recovery that it was supposed to produce?" The response from the Obama administration was that it's still too early to look for results because only 8 to 12% of the money allocated towards the recovery act had been paid out.
After one week of a strong gain in the Dow Jones industrial average, President Barack Obama came out on Friday and said that the weaker than expected decline in GDP was completely attributable to the recovery act. Well, we knew this was coming. Going back to that economics 101 class that we had, Americans understood that recessions will come and go. The anti-capitalists in the government today would like to reduce the business cycles by converting the United States to a communist country, but until they complete that, we may be fortunate enough to have capitalism around for another six months.
The progressives and liberals in Congress don't seem to get it. As they continue to try to shove unwanted legislation on the proverbial throat of America, they are turning a blind eye to the growing opposition. When the lefties oppose policies, ideas, and the people who are less radical than they are, they call it grass-roots protesting. When the citizens of the United States protest the liberal socialist agenda, they are called a manufactured mob.
As Congress takes a recess and goes back to their respective districts for town halls, listening sessions, et. al, they are being met with increasing opposition by their constituents with increasing tempers, yet they still have their heads up their butts and believe that the vast majority of Americans are yearning for government takeover of health care.
President Barrack Obama is leading the Democrats in Congress and asking them to pass a bill which will create government takeover of health care and health insurance. He is doing this to save cost and reduce deficits-so he says. Anyone who has any knowledge on these subjects clearly knows that this is a bald-faced lie. It's going to cause higher deficits in the future. The deficits are going to be higher than, well, now. And this year's deficit in his quadruple what it was for the previous deficit. Even higher than the Bush administration.
Government takeover is also going to mean rationing for the regular citizens. That means anyone who is not in Congress or the executive branch. If America's health care system is so bad, why doesn't Ted Kennedy go to Canada? Why doesn't Chris Dodd go to Canada? Those hypocrites are going to seek medical care here in the United States where they know it is the best healthcare in the world but want you as a citizen to think otherwise.
There's been a lot of attention lately steered towards the disruptions of the town hall meetings being conducted by members of Congress. Much of the focus has been on blaming the danger on Republicans and conservatives. Yet the media outlets will agree that the more that people find out about this health care reform bill, the less people like it.
After six months of shipping hugely costly ineffective bills through Congress and having the president proudly proclaim that we have done something, America is finally waking up. On days of good economic news, the Obama administration probably takes credit for the effectiveness of the stimulus bill. On days of poor economic news, the Obama administration shies away saying that only 8% of the bill has been paid out in there has not been enough time for it to work. Are we not supposed to recognize that these accomplishments have effectiveness based upon unrelated data? Apparently not.
Governor Jim Doyle has announced that he will not run for a third term. My jubilance is short-lived because I'm still reminded of all of the things he has done over the past 6 1/2 years to screw up the state.
He is raised every fee and tax in the state with the possible exception of one; the sales tax. This increased spending at the state level of over 7% forcing local governments to raise property taxes to make up for the shortfall while the economy continues to contract. Thousands of jobs have left the state in recent years because of the poor tax climate created by the Doyle administration. Although he did convince one company to come to the state to set up shop bringing a whopping four jobs with them.
The debate over government takeover of our health care system is continuing. And that's good thing. The value in the level of tension that accompanies such discussions is debatable. Who's being honest? Who's being rude? Who's being un-American? These too are debatable.
Many of the accusations of myths, lies, and mob organization has been coming from the left. This is to distract you from the actual truth which is; if you want to look at who has been dishing out the most lies in this debate, look at the Democrats.
Continuing to be on the subject of this cool summer is the health care reform that Congress is trying to force upon us in order to have the government take over that President Barack Obama wants. The opposition of the citizenry continues to grow as does the Democrats; ignorance to listen to their constituents.
Adding to the confusion is the unclear message that President Obama continues to send. His main mistake is leaving the details to Congress to write everything from scratch giving no leadership from the Oval Office. It took six months for the Obama family to decide on the puppy yet the American people are supposed to give complete overhaul to the health care system in six weeks.
The Democrats finally be scraping the bottom of the bay for the last few tricks they think they have been at in order to convince the American people that government takeover of health care is a good thing. They can't sell it on its merits-that's why people are against it. If the Democrats wanted to present what is in the bill, they would first have to read it. So of course, that's not viable. So the Democrats are resorting to what they believe got them victory last November-calling the opposition bigots and racists.
President Obama came out with one of his sound bites saying that everyone is getting all wee wee'd up. You'll have to pardon me for expecting a better vocabulary coming out of a Harvard graduate and the president of the United States. Calling people wee wee'd is not cute, it's not funny, it's not professional and it's not presidential.
